Sea Alarm Designated As A Topic Centre Organisation For Eionet

Sea Alarm designated as a Topic Centre Organisation for Eionet

Sea Alarm is pleased to announce its designation as a Topic Centre Organisation (TCO) within the European Environment Agency (EEA) and its European Environment Information and Observation Network (Eionet) for the 2027-2030 period. The designation recognises Sea Alarm’s expertise in marine emergency preparedness and response and multi-stakeholder cooperation, to contribute reliable marine environmental knowledge that supports EU policy and decision-making.

Topic Centres are a key part of the EEA’s expert network, supporting the collection, analysis and exchange of environmental knowledge and information across Europe. Designated EEA Topic Centre organisations form a pool of 298 recognised expert institutions that may be called upon to support future Topic Centre activities and projects during the 2027-2030 period.

For Sea Alarm, this designation represents an important opportunity to strengthen connections with environmental experts and institutions across Europe, while bringing our experience into the wider Eionet community. We look forward to contributing to the shared goal of protecting and improving Europe’s environment for future generations.
