Third marine wildlife emergency workshop held in Brest
In October 2018, Sea Alarm led the final workshop in a series exploring issues needing to be addressed to improve response to a variety of emergencies involving marine mammals.
In October 2018, Sea Alarm led the final workshop in a series exploring issues needing to be addressed to improve response to a variety of emergencies involving marine mammals.
In March, Sea Alarm brought fifteen leading seabird experts from eight countries together in Hamburg to discuss marine emergencies involving seabirds.
In November, Sea Alarm ran a successful workshop in Barcelona on marine emergencies involving sea turtles.
The first Steering Group meeting of the newly established EMPOWER Network was held in Brussels in May. The Steering Group’s role is to advise and assist Sea Alarm in setting up the EMPOWER Network and coordinate the various activities of the work programme. This initiative has been made possible thanks to a grant awarded to Sea Alarm by the European Commission.
