The Global network
Sea Alarm aims at building bridges between wildlife responders, industry, governmental organisations and non governmental organisation in order to arrive at effective pre-spill contingency plans, operational tools and standards and cooperative arrangements at national, regional and international levels.
The European Network
The European Network consists of key actors in the field of marine wildlife rehabilitation, science, industry, governmental organisations or NGO's. Sea Alarm maintains bilateral contacts with all these actors, which are based in all European coastal countries. About once every two years, a Sea Alarm Conference is organised which offers an excellent platform for everybody to present issues at stake, evaluate progress, discuss results from projects. Between Sea Alarm Conferences, Sea Alarm organises training events and national workshops which also allow people to meet and work together.
The network operates through e-communication. Once every two years, a Sea Alarm Conference is organised which allows Associated Members and other interest groups to come together, discuss progress with the Sea Alarm Board and prioritise the activities for a next activity period.
The International Alliance of Oiled Wildlife
Responders
The International Alliance of Oiled Wildlife Responders ("The Wildlife Alliance") is a worldwide cooperation of organisations that aim to increase professionalism in oiled wildlife rehabilitation, e.g. by developing technical standards and develop training modules. Sea Alarm has been amongst the "founding organisations" of this initiative and is one of the main catalysers of progress within this group.
